Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you set up IMAP (webmail) email on an iPhone:

Step 1: Gather Your Email Settings

Before you start, make sure you have:

Email address and password

IMAP server settings (typically provided by your email provider), including:

Incoming Mail Server (IMAP) Hostname

Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) Hostname

IMAP and SMTP ports (usually 993 for IMAP and 587 for SMTP, with SSL enabled)

Step 2: Open Settings on Your iPhone

1. Go to the Settings app.

2. Scroll down and select Mail.

3. Tap Accounts.

4. Choose Add Account and select Other at the bottom of the options.

Step 3: Add Mail Account

1. Tap Add Mail Account.

2. Enter your:

Name (the name that will appear when you send emails)

Email (your full email address)

Password (your email password)

Description (a label for this account, e.g., “Work Email”)

3. Tap Next.

Step 4: Configure IMAP Settings

1. Choose IMAP at the top.

2. Under Incoming Mail Server:

Enter the Hostname (e.g., “imap.yourdomain.com”)

Enter your Username (usually your email address)

Enter your Password

3. Under Outgoing Mail Server:

Enter the Hostname (e.g., “smtp.yourdomain.com”)

Enter your Username and Password again

4. Tap Next. The Mail app will verify your settings.

Once verified, ensure the Mail option is toggled on. Tap Save to finish.

Step 6: Adjust Advanced Settings (if necessary)

If you need to adjust port settings or SSL:

1. Go back to Settings > Mail > Accounts, and select your newly added account.

2. Tap Account > Advanced.

3. Set the Incoming Settings:

IMAP Path Prefix (leave as default or set as needed)

Server Port (usually 993 for IMAP with SSL enabled)

4. For Outgoing Settings under SMTP Server Port, enter 587 (or as specified by your provider).

Your IMAP (webmail) email account should now be set up on your iPhone! Open the Mail app to start receiving emails.
